Kimberly D. Acquaviva, PhD, MSW, CSE, FNAP, is the Betty Norman Norris Endowed Professor at the University of Virginia (UVA) School of Nursing. She previously served at George Washington University (GW) as Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs and Academy of Distinguished Teacher. Her research focuses on LGBTQIA-inclusive hospice/palliative care, end-of-life equity, and AI in healthcare education. She authored two seminal books, including the award-winning *LGBTQ-Inclusive Hospice and Palliative Care* (2017) and *The Handbook of LGBTQIA-Inclusive Hospice & Palliative Care* (2023).
Acquaviva teaches health policy, evidence-based practice, and leads UVA’s Distinguished Majors Program. Her work includes over $2M in grants, such as the National Nurse Emergency Preparedness Initiative. Awards include the AJN Book of the Year, Fulbright Scholar designation, and induction into Sigma Xi. She actively advocates for LGBTQ+ health equity through policy, media, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
