Kimberley Hill

Dr. Kimberley Hill is an Associate Professor and Deputy Head of Psychology at the University of Northampton, UK. A Chartered Psychologist and Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, she holds a National Teaching Fellowship from AdvanceHE and is a Fellow of the British Psychological Society. Her academic journey includes a First Class BSc in Psychology from Oxford Brookes University, an MRes in Psychological Research (with The University of Oxford), and a Psychology PhD funded by a Studentship.

Kimberley’s research focuses on prevention science, health psychology, and social behavior change, with a strong emphasis on alcohol misuse, gender-based violence prevention, and mental health promotion. She leads the Health, Education, and Behaviour Change Research Group and has pioneered consent education initiatives across campuses and schools. Her work extends to enhancing STEM participation, mentoring early-career researchers, and advising on policy related to student wellbeing and urban design.

She teaches across undergraduate and postgraduate modules, supervises PhD students, and has developed international Psychology programs. Her recent publications investigate alcohol-free social spaces, urban greenspace engagement, and gender perceptions in STEM, reflecting her interdisciplinary approach. Awards include recognition for transformative teaching and research impact, with media appearances on health and education topics.

Kimberley chairs the cross-University STEM Steering Group and the Northampton Area Psychology Teachers’ Group, fostering collaboration between institutions. She is actively involved in ethics committees and program validations, ensuring rigorous academic standards.
