Kimberley Furlong is an Associate Professor at the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design, University of Arkansas. With over 15 years of professional experience, she has worked for clients such as Harvard University, The Museum of Modern Art, and The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation. Previously, she served as a project manager and designer at Mell Lawrence Architects in Austin. Her teaching spans architecture, interior design, and preservation courses, emphasizing collaborative studios focused on reusing historically significant modern buildings.
Education: BFA in Plan, Design & Built Environment from Pratt Institute (Brooklyn), and MARCH in Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin.
Research interests include material culture, the Modern Movement, intersections of interior design and architecture, and the therapeutic impact of designed spaces. She actively contributes to the University of Arkansas Community Design Center, which has garnered over 200 design awards since 1995.
