Kimball Erdman serves as Professor at the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design, University of Arkansas, where he has held a faculty position since 2009. His academic work centers on documentation and preservation of historically significant landscapes across multiple national parks and heritage sites.
Erdman holds a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (B.L.A.) from Utah State University and a Master of Landscape Architecture (M.L.A.) from the University of Oregon. His scholarly focus spans landscape architecture history, public open space design, community planning, garden design, and cultural/historic landscape preservation.
His research manifests through extensive field documentation projects including Japanese American incarceration camps at Rohwer and Jerome (Arkansas), Buffalo National River, Pea Ridge National Military Park, Devil's Den State Park, Carlsbad Caverns National Park, and Cane River Creole National Historical Park. Erdman actively bridges academic research with professional practice through leadership roles.
He maintains significant professional engagement as board member of the Alliance for Historic Landscape Preservation and National Center for Preservation Technology and Training, plus academic membership in the American Society of Landscape Architects Historic American Landscapes Survey Subcommittee.
