Kim Weeden is a Professor of Sociology at Cornell University and holds the Jan Rock Zubrow '77 Professor of the Social Sciences title. She serves as Director of the Center for the Study of Inequality and was awarded the Stephen H. Weiss Presidential Fellowship, Cornell's highest teaching honor.

Her research focuses on income inequality, gender wage gaps, and socioeconomic determinants of occupational and academic choices. She employs quantitative methods and large-scale surveys to analyze structural inequities in labor markets and educational systems.
Recent publications examine trends in gender segregation across doctoral programs, overwork dynamics in labor markets, and historical shifts in occupational gender patterns. Her work reveals how professional licensing and prestige hierarchies perpetuate inequality.
