Kim O'Connell is a College Associate Professor and Program Director of the Athletic Training Program at New Mexico State University's Department of Kinesiology. She has been with NMSU since 2002, holding roles such as clinical education coordinator and director of rehabilitation for the athletic training program and clinic. Her clinical expertise spans outpatient sports medicine, hand therapy, and functional assessment in both high school and collegiate athletics.
Her research focuses on Clinical Evaluation, Manual Therapy, and organizational aspects of athletic training. She has published on specialized injury cases, such as thoracic fractures in rodeo athletes. O'Connell’s professional contributions include teaching and administrative leadership within the athletic training field.
