Kim Miller is a Professor in Fine Art + New Studio Practice at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design (MIAD). She previously taught at Chulalongkorn University (Bangkok), UW-Milwaukee, and the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design across departments including humanities, design, film, graphic design, foundations, fine art, and liberal studies. Her work explores interdisciplinary art practices focused on action, power, and meaning through mediums like video, performance, dance, theater, and film, interrogating radical democratic frameworks.
Education: BFA from Cooper Union (New York City), MFA from Vermont College.
Research interests emphasize the intersection of performative arts and socio-political inquiry, questioning the feasibility of a 'radical democratic subject' and the role of gesture in shaping identity. Her creative outputs include video installations and live performances exhibited nationally and internationally, from China to Milwaukee.
