Kim-Lien Nguyen

Dr. Kim-Lien Nguyen is an Associate Professor-in-Residence in the Departments of Medicine and Radiological Sciences at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She specializes in cardiovascular imaging science and cardiology, with a focus on developing and translating MRI techniques for ischemic, vascular, and congenital heart diseases. Her work includes pioneering the use of ferumoxytol-enhanced MRI for patients with kidney impairment and cardiorenal complications through the FeraSafe Multicenter MRI Registry. Dr. Nguyen also leads initiatives in telemedicine and veteran healthcare access, founding the cardiac MRI program at the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System.

Her education includes a medical degree from UCLA and training at Johns Hopkins Hospital. She completed a cardiology fellowship at UCLA and a research fellowship at the NIH.
