Kim Hie Lim

Assoc Prof Kim Hie Lim serves as an Associate Professor at the Asian School of the Environment and the Singapore Centre for Environmental Life Sciences Engineering (SCELSE) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, concurrently holding the role of Associate Chair (Students).

Her academic foundation includes:

• Ph.D. in Population Genetics from the Graduate University for Advanced Studies, Japan
• Postdoctoral research at Pennsylvania State University (2009 onwards)

Prof. Kim's research centers on population genomics to decode demographic histories through genetic variation. Key focus areas:

• Genetic diversity of Asian populations via the GenomeAsia 100K project
• Conservation genomics of Southeast Asian sea turtles
• Intersections of Population Health, Climate, and Environmental systems
• Molecular mechanisms in Biochemistry and Genetics

Her leadership spans SCELSE since 2014 (as Senior Research Fellow) and formal faculty appointment from 2016, driving large-scale genomic initiatives that bridge environmental science and population health in Asia.
