معرفی
Kilu von Prince is a Senior Researcher affiliated with the Leibniz-Zentrum Allgemeine Sprachwissenschaft (ZAS) in Berlin, Germany. They have been actively involved in academic projects such as QUEST (Quality - Established: Testing and application of curation criteria and quality standards for audiovisual annotated language data) and MelaTAMP (Morphosyntactic Typology and Alignment of Melanesian Languages). Their work focuses on the interplay between syntax and semantics, particularly in Oceanic languages like Daakaka, with a strong emphasis on morphological typology, reciprocal strategies, and the syntax-semantics interface in multiverb constructions.
Kilu von Prince has presented research at numerous international conferences and workshops, including the Societas Linguistica Europaea (SLE), AFLA, COOL11, and TripleA workshops. Collaborations with scholars such as Manfred Krifka, Ana Krajinovic, Frank Seifart, and others have led to contributions in areas like canonical timitive structures in Vanuatu languages, paradigm-induced implicatures in tense and modality (TAM) expression, and the role of corpora in comparative linguistic research. Their work also intersects with methodologies in language documentation, data management, and cross-linguistic complexity analysis.
They have engaged in public science communication through events like the Science Slam and multimedia installations related to the DoBeS project on Ambrym. Kilu von Prince's research interests span linguistic complexity, event argument serialization, lexical flexibility, and the integration of sociolinguistic and typological perspectives in language variation studies.
