Kiley Brandt is a video artist whose work attempts to inspire empathy through sound, poetry and immersive installation to better communicate dissatisfaction with the current political climate and the uncertain displacement many feel within it. Her primary research areas include diaspora, adoption, immigration and Mexican/American Border politics. Brandt's artistic practice spans video installations, digital media, and immersive environments that explore themes of identity, belonging, and political commentary. Her work often employs multi-channel video projections, spatial sound design, and interactive elements to create experiential environments that invite viewer engagement and reflection on contemporary social issues.
Analysis of Brandt's recent artistic output reveals a strong focus on immersive technologies and political engagement. Her work increasingly incorporates VR and multi-channel projection techniques while maintaining a consistent thematic focus on displacement and identity. The 2024 works show particular emphasis on election processes and archival practices, suggesting evolving engagement with contemporary political issues through artistic expression.
