Kieran Conboy is a Professor in Business Information Systems at the School of Business & Economics, University of Galway. He serves as a co-Principal Investigator in the Lero Irish Software Research Centre and has previously worked at Accenture Consulting and the University of New South Wales, Australia. His work spans academia, industry, and policy, with a focus on agile and lean methodologies in software organizations.
Research Interests: Kieran specializes in information systems innovation, agile and lean project management, portfolio management, and emerging models like crowdsourcing and crowdfunding. His research bridges academic theory and practical application, particularly in workplace innovation and software development processes.

Advisory Roles & Grants: He has advised Microsoft, Atlassian, Cisco Systems, and international public sector organizations. His research is funded by Science Foundation Ireland (SFI), Enterprise Ireland, the Irish Research Council, and the European Commission, with grants exceeding €8 million. He leads a project to adapt crowdfunding and crowdsourcing techniques in grant award mechanisms.
Labs & Teams: As a co-PI at Lero Irish Software Research Centre, he collaborates with a team of researchers, including 11 Ph.D. and postdoctoral fellows, to advance software engineering practices.
