Khashayar Sakhaee

Khashayar Sakhaee, M.D., is a tenured Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a faculty member at the Charles and Jane Pak Center for Mineral Metabolism and Clinical Research. He directs the Mineral Metabolism Clinic at Parkland Memorial Hospital and is part of the Ambulatory High-Performance Team at Parkland Health & Hospital System.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree and Medical Degree from Pahlavi University (Shiraz, Iran)
• Internal Medicine Residency at Pahlavi University and University Hospitals of Cleveland
• Nephrology Fellowship at UT Health Science Center, Dallas

Research & Clinical Focus: His work centers on metabolic bone diseases (osteoporosis, osteomalacia), electrolyte disorders (magnesium, phosphate, calcium imbalances), and uric acid stones. Research also addresses post-renal transplantation hypophosphatemia and osteoporosis mechanisms.

Awards: Holder of the Laura Kim Pak Professorship in Mineral Metabolism Research.

Professional Contributions: Editorial board member of Urolithiasis, active in national/international lectures, and member of the National Kidney Foundation, American Urological Association, and Dallas County Medical Society.

Labs/Teams: Directs the Mineral Metabolism Clinic and collaborates with the Pak Center for Mineral Metabolism and Clinical Research.
