Khalilah Reddie is an Associate Teaching Professor and Associate Chair in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, affiliated with the Kennedy College of Sciences. She directs the Medical Profession Admission Gap Initiative and Collaboration (MAGIC). Her research focuses on organic chemistry with emphases on protein oxidation mechanisms, redox signaling pathways, and biological sensors. She holds the 2015 Faculty Award for Teaching Excellence from UMass Lowell.
Her research explores cysteine-mediated redox regulation in proteins, including applications in cardiovascular biology, microbial systems, and cellular proteomics. Key contributions include developing fluorescent probes for redox measurements and studying sulfenic acid modifications in cardiovascular ion channels. She has also worked on photoremovable protecting groups for biological imaging and kinesin motor protein inhibition mechanisms derived from marine natural products.
