Dr. Khalid Khan is a Researcher at the Heidelberg Institute of Global Health (HIGH), affiliated with Heidelberg University. With over seven years of post-Ph.D. research experience, his work focuses on education economics, labor economics, health equity, and policy analysis targeting disadvantaged populations. His expertise includes advanced econometric analysis of large-scale data to examine vulnerability and patterns of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). He contributes to field-based evidence and policy-oriented research to address NCD challenges, particularly among marginalized groups.
He is actively involved in the Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) Implementation Research and Global Health and Economics Research Group, collaborating on projects such as Diabetes Bangladesh and B-Change. His role encompasses designing research proposals, analyzing health systems, and translating findings into actionable policies. He also engages in interdisciplinary efforts within the Climate Change and Health Intervention and Health Economics and Financing groups.
Dr. Khan’s work emphasizes pragmatic solutions for global health challenges, combining quantitative rigor with real-world policy applications. His contributions bridge academic research and practical implementation, addressing systemic barriers to equitable health outcomes.
