Dr. Khaldoun Aldiabat is an Associate Professor at the School of Nursing, Cape Breton University and serves as Assistant Dean for Research & Scholarship. His academic background includes a Doctorate in Nursing Philosophy from the University of Calgary and degrees from Jordan University of Science and Technology. He has extensive experience in teaching and mentoring nursing students internationally.
Research interests focus on smoking/addiction, mental/chronic disease management, immigrant health, nursing education, and gerontology. He has published over 40 peer-reviewed articles and serves as Associate Editor of the International Journal of Nursing Student Scholarship. His work emphasizes culturally responsive care and community partnerships, particularly for Indigenous populations and marginalized groups.
Key areas of contribution include curriculum development in nursing education, pandemic-related healthcare challenges, and addressing social determinants of health. Dr. Aldiabat’s interdisciplinary approach integrates qualitative research methodologies and health promotion strategies.
