Khagendra Bharambe is a Research Fellow at the University of California Merced, affiliated with the Sierra Nevada Research Institute and working through the University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC ANR) based in Ventura County. His current postdoctoral research focuses on agroclimatic studies, specifically analyzing climate change impacts on Ventura County's major crops and developing comprehensive climate science outlook reports.
Dr. Bharambe earned his Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from Kyoto University's Graduate School of Engineering in 2021 and a Master's degree in Agriculture Engineering from Thailand's Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in 2011. Prior professional experience includes serving as a Research Associate at AIT (2011-2013) and as an Agro-Climate and GIS Specialist at RIMES in Thailand (2013-2018).
His research spans Climate Change adaptation in agricultural systems, Agroclimatology modeling, Environmental Engineering solutions for crop resilience, and spatiotemporal analysis of Extreme Weather Events. Current work emphasizes quantifying climate impacts on crop production systems through geospatial and statistical methodologies.
Dr. Bharambe is actively engaged with the Sierra Nevada Research Institute and the UC Cooperative Extension network in Ventura County, where he contributes to state-mandated agricultural climate adaptation initiatives.
