Khadriya Kurban

Khadriya Kurban serves as a Lecturer at Tongji University's School of Art and Media since 2020, specializing in orchestral and choral conducting with demonstrated expertise through collaborations with over a dozen major Chinese symphony orchestras including Xinjiang Philharmonic and Urumqi Symphony Orchestras.

Her research bridges practical conducting methodology with ethnomusicological exploration, particularly examining Uyghur Muqam traditions within Western classical frameworks. Current investigations focus on conductor-student pedagogical dynamics and score interpretation techniques for contemporary Chinese orchestral works, emphasizing cultural hybridity in musical performance.
