Khadija Mohammed is a Professor and Associate Dean (EDI) in the Office of VP (People and Student Wellbeing). She holds a PhD focused on Black and Minority Ethnic teachers' professional identities in Scotland. Her work emphasizes anti-racism in education, social justice, and culturally responsive pedagogy. She has contributed to initiatives like the Scottish Government's Anti-Racism in Education Programme and chairs multiple national committees addressing racial equity in education.
Education Background: Master of Education (dissertation on bilingual teachers' cultural identity) and a PhD exploring minority ethnic teachers' professional identities. External roles include leadership positions in organizations such as the Educational Institute of Scotland, Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education, and Scottish Trade Union Council.
Research Interests: Teacher recruitment of ethnic minorities, anti-racist curriculum development, bilingual education, and culturally inclusive teaching practices. She advocates for maintaining children’s mother tongues and fostering socially responsible citizenship in diverse classrooms.
