معرفی
Keyla Sá is a Research Fellow in Cellular and Molecular Immunology at Yale University, working in the Iwasaki Lab at the Yale School of Medicine. Her research focuses on host-pathogen interactions, innate immune responses, and inflammatory mechanisms in infections such as Leishmania and SARS-CoV-2. She holds a PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of São Paulo and a Master’s degree in Infectious and Parasitic Agents from Universidade Federal do Pará.
Education:
- PhD, Universidade de São Paulo, 2022
- MSc, Universidade Federal do Pará, 2018
- BSc, Universidade Federal do Pará, 2016
Research Interests: Keyla’s work explores the molecular mechanisms of innate immunity, including inflammasome activation, pyroptosis, and cytokine signaling. Her recent studies investigate long COVID and the role of inflammasomes in viral and parasitic infections. Her findings aim to identify therapeutic targets to mitigate severe disease outcomes.
Awards:
- Best Abstract Award (2022)
- Young Talent Award in Life Sciences (2022)
- AAI-IUIS Travel Award (2017)
Lab & Team: As part of the Iwasaki Lab, Keyla collaborates on translational research linking basic immunology to clinical applications. Her work bridges molecular biology and clinical observations to advance understanding of immune responses in infectious diseases.
