Kevin Svitana

Kevin Svitana is a Professor in the Department of Biology & Earth Science at Otterbein University, where he joined the faculty in 2007 and serves as Director of the Environmental Studies Program. With over 35 years of experience as a geologist and 33+ years as a hydrogeologist, he is a licensed Professional Geologist in Pennsylvania, Kentucky, North Carolina, and South Carolina, and an Ohio Voluntary Action Program (VAP) Certified Environmental Professional.

His educational background includes:

• Ph.D. from The Ohio State University
• M.S. from West Virginia University
• B.S. from Juniata University

Dr. Svitana's research focuses on water resource management, aqueous geochemistry, sustainable resource management, and brownfield redevelopment. His professional work encompasses mineral and water resource evaluation, environmental impact studies, hazardous waste site assessment and remediation, and environmental compliance consulting for regulated entities. His expertise bridges academic research with practical environmental solutions in hydrogeology and resource sustainability.
