Kevin Stewart

Kevin Stewart is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at Harding University, where he has been teaching since fall 2003. He teaches a range of undergraduate courses including Organic Chemistry, College Chemistry, and Physical Science, and co-teaches an interdisciplinary course on Science and Scripture.

His research focuses on Organic Reaction Optimization and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), contributing to the field of physical organic chemistry. His academic interests also extend to chemistry education and the dialogue between science and Christian faith.

He advises students in Chemistry, Pre-Medical, Pre-Dental, and the honor society Chi Sigma Alpha. He has been a member of the American Chemical Society since 1996, reflecting long-standing professional engagement.

Stewart earned his B.S. in Chemistry from Harding University in 1997 and completed his Ph.D. in Physical Organic Chemistry at Purdue University. He is affectionately known as 'Doc' on campus and is actively involved in both teaching and student mentorship.
