Kevin Reiterer

Kevin Reiterer is a researcher at the Institute of Hydraulic Engineering, Hydraulics and River Research within the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU). His work focuses on sediment transport dynamics, river morphology, and hydraulic engineering challenges related to run-of-river hydropower systems.

His research addresses sediment management in gravel-bed rivers, including advection-dispersion of bed load pulses, delta formation at hydropower reservoirs, and flushing efficiency optimization. He employs both physical laboratory experiments and computational fluid dynamics simulations to analyze particle-fluid interactions and coherent flow structures.

Recent publications highlight trends in fluvial sediment dynamics (2019-2025), emphasizing gravel transport mechanics, reservoir sedimentation control, and numerical/experimental methods for analyzing particle collisions and vortex shedding.
