معرفی
Kevin Michael Haigis, PhD, is a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Chief Scientific Officer at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. His research focuses on cancer biology, particularly the role of RAS mutations in colorectal cancer and inflammatory pathways. He leads the Haigis Lab, combining experimental and computational methods to study oncogenic signaling networks and tissue-specific pathologies.
Dr. Haigis earned his PhD from the University of Wisconsin in 2002 and completed postdoctoral training at MIT under Tyler Jacks. He has held roles including Director of Cancer Genetics at Beth Israel Deaconess Cancer Center and Investigator at the Center for the Study of Inflammatory Bowel Disease. He is an Associate Member of the Broad Institute and a Fellow of the AAAS (2024).
His research interests include systems biology applications to genetically complex diseases, tumor microenvironment dynamics, and translational oncology. Key contributions include mouse models mimicking human colon cancer and computational models of dysregulated signaling pathways.
- Awards: AAAS Fellowship (2024), Grand Challenge Award (2019), Howard Temin Award (2006)
- Lab Members: Advises students such as Alex, Kiddy, Bing, and Sarah (recognized for Soros Fellowships and research contributions).
- Affiliations: Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School, Broad Institute
Current initiatives involve advancing precision oncology through mechanistic insights into RAS-driven cancers and inflammation-driven malignancies.
