Associate Professor Kevin Mc Namara is Deputy Director (Research) at Deakin University's School of Medicine within the Faculty of Health. He is based at the Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus and holds an active research leadership role in rural and implementation health. He also maintains adjunct affiliations with Monash University (until 2024) and the University of Sharjah, alongside a former adjunct role at the Public Health Foundation of India.
His research spans implementation science, person-centered healthcare, rural health services, multimorbidity, and medication management. He focuses on improving healthcare access, care coordination, and continuity, particularly in underserved and rural populations. His work often involves co-design with consumers and health professionals to develop scalable models of care.
The recent publications (2023–2025) highlight a strong focus on medication adherence across diverse populations (Chinese, Vietnamese, Arab, Sub-Saharan African), telehealth implementation, rural health priorities, health geography, and de-implementation of low-value care.
