Kevin Lotery is an Assistant Professor of Modern and Contemporary Art at Boston College, affiliated with the Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences. He holds a B.A. from Columbia University and a Ph.D. from Harvard University. His research explores intersections between art, science, and technology, with a focus on exhibition histories and the legacy of the Holocaust on artists and filmmakers. Recent work includes analyzing Siegfried Kracauer’s philosophical contributions to historical discourse. Courses taught span modern art, postwar art, and contemporary installation practices. His 2020 book The Long Front of Culture examines mid-20th century British exhibition design’s global impact. Professional history includes roles at Newcastle University and Columbia University, supported by grants from institutions like the Paul Mellon Centre.
