Kevin Laupland

Kevin Laupland is a Professor at Queensland University of Technology and serves as Intensivist & Director of Intensive Care Research at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH). He relocated to Brisbane in 2019 after extensive clinical and research experience in Canada.

Education:

• MD (Honours) from University of Toronto
• Master of Science in Epidemiology from University of Calgary
• PhD from Griffith University (2020)

His research focuses on the epidemiology of severe infections and antimicrobial-resistant pathogens, supported by over 500 publications. He collaborates internationally across medical, surgical, laboratory, and allied health disciplines in Australia, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Sweden, and the UK.

• Fellow of the College of Intensive Care Medicine
• PhD from Griffith University (2020)
• Over 500 publications in major peer-reviewed journals

Laupland has mentored trainees from undergraduate to postgraduate levels and held administrative roles, including Head of the Department of Medicine at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops.
