Kevin Kehrberg is a Professor of Music at Warren Wilson College, where he teaches courses in American music, global music, and music theory. His research focuses on vernacular sacred music in America, intersections of music with race and ethnicity, and Indonesian Gamelan music. He actively performs and records in jazz and traditional music settings, blending professional artistry with academic rigor.
Education: B.A. in Music (Bethel College), M.A. and Ph.D. in Musicology (University of Kentucky).
Research & Awards: Specializes in American vernacular sacred music and ethnomusicological studies. Received the 2021 IBMA 'Instrumental Recorded Performance of the Year' for 'Ground Speed.' Served as President and Vice-President of the American Musicological Society's South-Central Chapter, and Chair of the Folk & Traditional Music Interest Group.
