Kevin Ibeh is a Professor of Marketing and International Business at Birkbeck Business School, part of Birkbeck, University of London. He serves as Pro Vice Chancellor (International) and is a globally recognized expert on African Multinational Enterprises (MNEs) and international entrepreneurship. His research explores how non-dominant firms, including SMEs, leverage opportunities in international markets. He has advised international organizations like the World Bank, OECD, and governments across multiple countries.
His academic qualifications include a PhD and he holds fellowships with the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA) and Chartered Institute of Marketing (FCIM). He has authored over 100 academic papers and four books, including the 2017 edited volume International Business in a Multi-speed Global Economy. He guest-edited major journals and leads the Palgrave Series on Entrepreneurship in Africa.
Research interests focus on firm internationalization, emerging market firm strategies, and African MNE expansion. Recent work emphasizes digital transformation of African enterprises post-pandemic. He has supervised five doctoral researchers and served as external examiner for institutions worldwide.
His global professional experience includes roles in 19 countries across five continents, with advisory roles in policy development and international business strategy. He regularly presents at international conferences and sits on editorial boards of leading journals.
