State University of New York at Buffaloمعرفی
Kevin Hulme is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University at Buffalo, affiliated with the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences and the Stephen Still Institute for Sustainable Transportation and Logistics. His research focuses on game-based approaches for applied modeling and simulation (M&S), human factors in vehicle simulation, and driver performance assessment. He holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University at Buffalo (2000), along with MS and BS degrees from the same institution.
His work integrates mixed-reality technologies, physics-based modeling, and virtual environments to enhance driver training and vehicle design. He leads the Motion Simulation Lab (MSL), exploring applications of simulation in transportation safety, occupational therapy, and education. Recent projects include evaluating distractions in driving, optimizing simulation fidelity for training, and analyzing aggressive driving behaviors. His interdisciplinary research also addresses emerging challenges in cyber-physical transportation systems and flying car technologies.
Publications highlight his contributions to M&S frameworks, ADHD-related driver interventions, and gamification in engineering education. He collaborates on federal and industry projects to advance simulation-based solutions for transportation safety and workforce development.
