Kevin Hearty is a Senior Lecturer at Queen's University Belfast (QUB), based in the School of Social Sciences, Education and Social Work and affiliated with the Institute of Criminology and Criminal Justice (ICCJ). He is a Fellow at the Senator George J Mitchell Institute, working within its Legacy theme group. His research focuses on critical criminology, transitional justice, victimology, and memory studies, with a particular emphasis on Northern Ireland's conflict legacy and narrative analysis. He teaches courses including 'Introduction to Criminology' and 'Exploring Harm & Victimisation.'
