University of Texas at Austinمعرفی
Kevin Folliard is a Professor and Director of the Laboratory for Infrastructure Materials Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. He holds the Warren S. Bellows Centennial Professorship in Civil Engineering. His expertise revolves around infrastructure materials engineering, with a focus on concrete durability, high-performance concrete systems, and alkali-silica reaction (ASR) mitigation. Folliard earned his Ph.D. (1995), M.S. (1991), and B.S. (1990) in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and Florida Institute of Technology, respectively.
His research interests include Portland cement concrete, controlled low-strength materials, and the development of sustainable concrete technologies. He leads efforts in evaluating closure joint materials for accelerated bridge construction and improving ASR guidelines. Folliard's work integrates laboratory testing with field exposure studies to advance material performance and durability in civil infrastructure.
Key projects include long-term monitoring of ASR exposure sites, developing predictive models for bridge deck cracking, and evaluating novel cementitious blends. His contributions address critical challenges in construction materials, such as sulfate resistance and interfacial bonding between asphalt and concrete surfaces. Folliard's laboratory serves as a hub for advancing infrastructure materials science, with applications in transportation and structural engineering.
