Kevin C. Bastian is a Research Associate Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC Chapel Hill), serving as Director of Research for EPIC. He leads the Educator Quality Research Initiative, a collaboration between EPIC and the UNC System Office, focusing on enhancing educator preparation and evaluating laboratory schools. He also directs research partnerships with US PREP, a technical assistance center supporting university-based educator preparation programs.

Dr. Bastian holds a Ph.D. in Public Policy from UNC Chapel Hill. His research emphasizes educator preparation systems, labor market dynamics in education, and leveraging data to improve teacher effectiveness and resource equity.
