Kevin Boyle is a faculty member in the Justice, Law, and Criminology Department at American University's School of Public Affairs, where he has been teaching since 2016. A retired Colonel in the U.S. Army's Judge Advocate General's Corps with 26 years of service, Boyle brings extensive practical legal experience to his academic role, having served as Chief of Staff for the Judge Advocate General's Legal Center and School, Chief instructor of all Army prosecutors worldwide, and principal legal advisor for U.S. Army forces on the Korean border and in Europe.
His educational background includes a B.A. (1985) and J.D. (1989) from St John's University, and an L.L.M. (1999) from The Judge Advocate General's School. Boyle teaches a comprehensive curriculum spanning foundational legal education to specialized topics, with courses scheduled through Fall 2025 across multiple semesters.
