Kerstin TE HEESEN

Kerstin TE HEESEN is a Research Scientist at the University of Luxembourg's Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences, Department of Education and Social Work. She specializes in primary school teacher training, with a focus on integrating visual and media history into educational practices. Her research bridges historical perspectives with contemporary pedagogical challenges, emphasizing knowledge acquisition and cultural contexts.

Dr. Heesen holds a doctorate in Educational Sciences from Ruhr-University Bochum and has held positions at multiple institutions, including the University of Luxembourg's SciTeach Center. She currently coordinates the Sci2School project, funded by the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR), aimed at enhancing science education in primary schools through contextualized resources.

Her research interests include the history of education, visual studies, and culturally responsive teaching methods. She has published extensively on topics such as multimodal educational media, teacher professional development, and equity in science education.
