معرفی
Kerstin Orend is a Researcher at the Department of Electronic Circuit Technology within the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at Ruhr University Bochum. Her work focuses on microwave and terahertz technologies, material characterization, and sensor design. She collaborates on projects involving dielectric waveguides, RF applicators, and advanced material analysis techniques. Dr. Orend has contributed to interdisciplinary research, including humanitarian microwave detection systems and terahertz transmission technologies.
Her research interests span high-frequency electronics, with particular emphasis on practical applications such as antenna design, material testing, and non-destructive evaluation. Recent publications highlight innovations in dielectric waveguide setups for W-band and D-band measurements, as well as advancements in terahertz transmission systems using novel RF applicator designs.
Publications from 2018 to 2025 demonstrate a consistent focus on microwave engineering and material science intersections, including studies on laser-generated nanoparticles for PEM electrolysis and hybrid mode-locking techniques for THz wave sampling. She is affiliated with the Electronic Circuit Technology team and contributes to the broader ETIT research community at Ruhr University.
