Dr. Kerstin Blomquist is a Professor of Psychology at Furman University specializing in disordered eating, body image, and intervention development. Her research examines risk factors for disordered eating and develops community-based prevention programs.
Dr. Blomquist's educational background includes a PhD in clinical science from Vanderbilt University, clinical psychology internship at UC San Diego/VA, and postdoctoral fellowship at Yale School of Medicine. Her work focuses on both risk mechanisms and practical interventions for eating disorders.
Current research explores the dissemination of dissonance-based body image programs in community settings, cross-cultural aspects of disordered eating, and the impact of social media on body image. Her community-engaged approach aims to promote positive body image and psychological well-being.
