Kerry Noonan is a Professor in the Core Division at Champlain College, affiliated with the Division of Communication & Creative Media and the Stiller School of Business. She holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Folklore & Mythology from UCLA, with research focusing on new religious movements, women's roles in religion, and folklore. Her work explores topics like feminist witchcraft, Celtic folklore, and Chinese vernacular religions. She has directed theatrical productions at Champlain, including Sweeney Todd and Blue Stockings, and co-teaches the Filmmaking capstone. Notable awards include the Champlain College Diversity Award (2013) and a Faculty Internationalization Grant (2009). Her publications span ethnology, religious studies, and folklore, with key works analyzing foodways in Dianic witchcraft and the syncretic figure of Gran Brijit in Haitian Vodou. She actively engages in global cultural studies, having led travel courses on topics like Harry Potter's cultural impact.
