David Kopec

David Kopec is an Associate Professor and Co-Program Director of the Computer Science program at Champlain College’s Division of Information Technology & Sciences. He holds an AB in Economics and an MS in Computer Science from Dartmouth College, along with an Executive MBA from Quantic School of Business & Technology. His expertise spans Mobile App Development, Open Source Software, and Computer Science Education.

Dr. Kopec authored the Classic Computer Science Problems book series (in Swift, Python, Java) and Dart for Absolute Beginners. He contributes to open-source projects like SwiftGraph and SwiftPriorityQueue. His research emphasizes practical algorithm implementation and pedagogical approaches to programming education.

Previously, he worked as a startup consultant and co-founder focusing on iOS development while maintaining part-time adjunct roles. He hosts the Kopec Explains Software podcast and actively engages in academic discussions through publications and conferences.
