Dr. Keri Nicoll is an Associate Professor in the Department of Meteorology at the University of Reading. She specializes in atmospheric electricity, solar-terrestrial interactions, and space weather, with a focus on instrumentation development and aerosol charging. Her roles include PhD Admissions Tutor and leadership in research projects such as the Atmospheric Electricity for Climate (AtmosEleC) Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship. She has received the AGU Early Career Award for Atmospheric and Space Electricity (2020) and holds a Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellowship.
- Education: BSc Hons in Physics with Meteorology from the University of Edinburgh.
- Research Interests: Volcanic plume electrification, dust charging, UAV-based atmospheric measurements, and planetary atmospheric electricity.
Her work spans international collaborations, including EU COST Actions and ISSI projects, and she supervises multiple PhD students researching topics like fog electrification, Venus atmospheric processes, and UAV instrumentation. Key achievements include pioneering studies on Saharan dust electrification and charged particle effects on clouds.
