Kent Mummert

Kent Mummert is a Specialty Instructor of Graphic Design at Belhaven University since 2024, affiliated with the Art+Design department. He holds a B.A., M.A., and M.F.A. from Mississippi College. His expertise includes layout design, typography, and communication problem-solving, with teaching focuses on graphic software, logo creation, branding, and packaging design.

Research interests span graphic design methodologies, visual communication strategies, and art pedagogy. His creative practice extends to photography, printmaking, and book design. Mummert has maintained a freelance design practice (RiverWorks) since 1991 and previously taught as an adjunct instructor at Mississippi College’s Art and Kinesiology departments, including karate instruction.
