Kent L. Brintnall is an Associate Professor in the Department of Religious Studies at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, with affiliate status in Women's & Gender Studies. His research and teaching focus on gender/sexuality studies, queer theory, psychoanalysis, and critical theory. He is the author of Ecce Homo: The Male-Body-in-Pain as Redemptive Figure (2011) and co-editor of multiple volumes, including Negative Ecstasies (2015) and Sexual Disorientations (2017). His current projects explore constitutive violence through the works of Bersani, Laplanche, Edelman, and Bataille. He teaches courses on Jesus films and has written extensively on pedagogical approaches to trauma in religious education.
