Kenny Morrell is an Associate Professor of Ancient Mediterranean Studies at Rhodes College since 1993. He previously taught at St. Olaf College and earned his academic credentials from Stanford University (B.A. in German Studies and Classics, Phi Beta Kappa) and Harvard University (M.A. and Ph.D. in Classical Philology). His career focuses on integrating information technology into classical studies, notably through contributions to the Perseus Project and co-founding the Sunoikisis virtual classics department in 1995.
Current affiliations include the Center for Hellenic Studies in Washington, D.C., where he helps direct fellowship and curricular development programs. He has also worked on archaeological excavations in Turkey (1998-2005) and collaborated with the Council of Independent Colleges on initiatives like "Ancient Greece in the Modern College Classroom" (www.cic.edu).
