Kenneth Schultz holds the endowed William Bennett Munro Professorship in Political Science at Stanford University, affiliated with the Department of Political Science within the School of Humanities and Sciences. He earned his A.B. in Russian and Soviet Studies from Harvard University (1990), followed by an M.A. (1993) and Ph.D. (1996) in Political Science from Stanford.
His research focuses on international conflict dynamics and conflict resolution strategies, spanning the broad domains of Comparative Politics and International Relations. His scholarly contributions include influential books analyzing coercive diplomacy and global political institutions.
Notable recognitions include the Karl Deutsch Award (International Studies Association, 2003) for significant contributions to international relations research, and the Dean’s Award for Distinguished Teaching (Stanford School of Humanities and Sciences, 2011) for excellence in pedagogy.
