Kenneth R. Lewis serves as Dean of the Memphis College of Urban and Theological Studies (MCUTS) and Professor of Pastoral Ministry at Union University. He holds leadership and academic positions within the MCUTS Adult Programs division of the institution.
Dr. Lewis earned his Ph.D in Practical Theology and M.Div. from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary, complemented by a B.S. in Computer Science from Mississippi State University and a B.Th. from Huntsville Bible College. His diverse educational background bridges technical and theological disciplines.
His research interests focus on pastoral ministry, biblical studies, and practical theology, with particular emphasis on New Testament interpretation and Christian leadership development. Dr. Lewis integrates his expertise in both technical and theological fields to address contemporary ministry challenges.
His recent scholarly contribution appears in the 2025 publication United in Jesus, United in Joy: Sermons on Philippians, where he authored the chapter 'Unusually Useful for Christ (Philippians 2:19-30)'. This work demonstrates his specialization in Pauline epistles and practical application of biblical texts.
