Dr. Kenneth O is a Professor in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD), affiliated with the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science. He holds a BS, MS, and PhD from MIT (1984, 1989). His research focuses on RF and millimeter-wave circuits, terahertz transceivers, and advanced materials for energy storage and gas separation. He leads projects at the Texas Analog Center of Excellence (TxACE), exploring topics like carbon molecular sieve membranes and hybrid supercapacitors.
Education: BS & MS from MIT (1984), PhD in MIT (1989).
Research highlights include innovative work on metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), wrinkled mesoporous materials, and nanocomposite electrodes. His recent publications emphasize energy storage materials, nanomaterial synthesis, and gas separation technologies. Collaborations span academic and industrial partners through TxACE's initiatives.
His work bridges electrical engineering with material science, addressing challenges in high-frequency systems and sustainable energy solutions. Key contributions include templated carbon nanostructures and fluorinated rare-earth MOFs for targeted applications.
