Dr. Kenneth B. Roberts is a Professor of Therapeutic Radiology at Yale School of Medicine with multiple leadership roles including Chief of the Cardiac Brachytherapy Program, Chief of the Lymphoma/Sarcoma Radiotherapy Program, Chief of the Pediatrics Radiotherapy Program, and Associate Chief of Radiation Oncology at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He is actively involved with Yale Cancer Center, Yale Medicine, and Yale Ventures, with additional affiliations spanning the Brain Tumor Center, Center for Gastrointestinal Cancers, DNA Damage and Genome Integrity program, Gynecologic Oncology Program, and multiple specialized radiotherapy programs.
Dr. Roberts' research focuses on radiation oncology for pediatric cancers, lymphomas, leukemias, and sarcomas. His clinical interests emphasize the role of radiotherapy in pediatric malignancies and lymphomas, with particular attention to combined modality therapy, late effects of treatment including secondary malignancies, and the application of brachytherapy for both malignant and benign conditions. His work examines how to modify radiation dose and volume based on treatment response, the economic forces driving radiotherapy utilization patterns, and the long-term outcomes of cancer therapies.
His recent publications (2023-2025) demonstrate a strong focus on Hodgkin lymphoma treatment protocols, radiation therapy outcomes, and prognostic scoring systems. The research shows a clear pattern of collaboration with the Children's Oncology Group and participation in international multi-center studies examining cardiac toxicity, metabolic tumor burden, and risk stratification in pediatric Hodgkin lymphoma.

As a practicing academic physician, Dr. Roberts has been involved in numerous clinical trials and serves as a sub-investigator for multiple pediatric cancer studies. His work bridges clinical practice with research on optimizing cancer treatment strategies while examining the economic and practical factors influencing therapeutic decisions. He has mentored numerous trainees through Yale's medical education programs and continues to contribute to national guidelines as evidenced by his participation in NCCN Guidelines development.
Dr. Roberts leads specialized radiotherapy programs focusing on cardiac applications, lymphoma/sarcoma treatment, and pediatric radiation oncology, demonstrating his commitment to advancing targeted radiation therapies for complex cancer cases while minimizing long-term complications for survivors.
