Professor Kennedy Michael Peter is a Professor of Microelectronic Engineering and Head of the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at University College Dublin (UCD). Previously, he served as Professor and Head of the Department of Microelectronic Engineering at University College Cork (UCC), and held leadership roles including Dean of Engineering and Vice-President for Research Policy at UCC. He has held visiting positions globally and is a Fellow of the IEEE, Royal Irish Academy, and Irish Academy of Engineering.
Education: BE (Electronics) from UCD (1984), MS and PhD from UC Berkeley (1987, 1991), DEng from National University of Ireland (2010).
Research focuses on oscillator design, nonlinear dynamics, neural networks, chaos communication, and microelectronics. He has over 350 publications and founded Ireland’s MIDAS Ireland and MCCI. Awards include the IEEE Millennium Medal, RIA Parsons Medal, and multiple best paper awards.

Advising and grants: Founded key industry-academia partnerships and reviewed for national/international funding bodies. Served as Chair of the European Research Council’s PE7 Panel (2014).
