Kendra Wheeler is an Assistant Professor of Saxophone at Louisiana State University (LSU) School of Music. An internationally recognized artist, scholar, and educator, she specializes in saxophone performance, music pedagogy, and the intersection of music with societal and political dimensions. Her work emphasizes technical mastery, artistic expression, and inclusivity in classical music.

Wheeler is a leading advocate for representation in music, founding the Women of Color in Classical Saxophone Group and serving as alto saxophonist in the Medusa Saxophone Quartet—an all-women ensemble focused on supporting underrepresented saxophonists and composers through performance and education.

She is currently completing her debut album Folk Music Reimagined for release in Summer 2025.
