Kendra Kintzi is a Cornell Atkinson Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Global Development at Cornell University. Her research focuses on the politics of decarbonization, climate justice, and democratic environmental governance in Jordan and Southwest Asia. She explores infrastructural change through interdisciplinary lenses like political ecology and digital geography, partnering with the Jain Family Institute on transborder energy governance. Kintzi holds a Ph.D., M.S., and B.A. in Development-related fields from Cornell and UC Berkeley.

Research Interests: Kintzi’s work bridges smart infrastructure, digital mobilization, and energy transition in global contexts. She examines how renewable energy programs reshape political landscapes and community dynamics, particularly in Jordan. Her studies highlight socio-environmental mobilization and the digital governance of energy systems, emphasizing inclusive and equitable outcomes in decarbonization efforts.
Publications & Grants: Over 10 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, including work in Environment and Planning D and Transactions of the Institute of British Geographers. Awards include the Digital Geography Student Paper Award (AAG, 2023) and grants from the Mellon Foundation, Fulbright, and Cornell’s Einaudi Center.
Advising & Grants: Her grants include the Pruitt Dissertation Fellowship (2021) and Fulbright-Hays DDRA (declined). She collaborates with NGOs like Oxfam and Amplify Girls, addressing barriers to education and climate justice.
Labs & Teams: Active in the Jain Family Institute’s transborder energy governance project and affiliated with Cornell’s Mario Einaudi Center for International Studies. Her work integrates fieldwork across 11 countries, emphasizing grassroots engagement and policy advocacy.
